Funding opportunities for researchers, communities, and organizations advancing aquatic conservation.

Grant Programs

FCRG administers several grant programs to support conservation research, habitat restoration, and community education initiatives. We invest in projects that generate actionable data, restore critical habitats, and build public support for aquatic conservation.

Research Grants

Up to $50,000 for studies advancing our understanding of fish populations, aquatic ecosystems, and conservation methods. Open to academic researchers, independent scientists, and tribal biologists.

Deadline: June 30 annually • Award: $5,000–$50,000

Habitat Restoration Grants

Funding for on-the-ground projects that restore fish habitat, remove passage barriers, or improve water quality. Priority given to projects with community involvement and matching funds.

Deadline: September 15 annually • Award: $10,000–$100,000

Community Education Grants

Support for schools, nonprofits, and community groups developing aquatic education programs. Funds can cover materials, field trips, guest speakers, and curriculum development.

Deadline: Rolling • Award: $1,000–$10,000

Student Fellowship Program

Annual fellowships for graduate students conducting thesis research related to fisheries science, aquatic ecology, or conservation biology. Includes stipend, field expenses, and mentorship.

Deadline: March 1 annually • Award: $15,000 stipend
